The VOYAGER's 2.5-day Southern Rough Bottom Trip on June 21 was very good with many limit catches of Blueline and Golden Tilefish. A nice mix of Rosefish, White Hake and Barrelfish also came over the rails. The highlight of the trip was on Monday, June 22 when Emil Jaskot caught a huge Broad Alfonsino (Beryx decadactylus). Emil was reeling up a couple of Rosefish when the big Alfonsino decided to snack on one of them.
Emil's Broad Alfonsino was weighed in at The Reel Seat in Brielle, NJ at 19.7 pounds (19 pounds 11 ounces) and measured 32 1/4 inches in length and had a girth of 26 1/8 inches. A NJ marine biologist inspected the fish and confirmed its identity and measurements. Emil's fish crushes the current IGFA All-Tackle World Record fish (8 pounds 5 ounces) by 11 pounds 6 ounces and IGFA certification is pending. You can see Emil's Broad Alfonsino and other trip photos on our Photo Gallery page.
We still have some available spots on our next 2.5-DAY NANTUCKET FLUKE & HADDOCK/COC/POLLOCK JIGGING TRIP. The trip departs 5 PM SUNDAY JULY 5 and the fare is $650.
